Levels: First Certificate (FCE), Advanced (CAE) and Proficiency (CPE)

The Gold Coast Language Schools’ Cambridge Courses including First Certificate in English (FCE), Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), and Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) are intensive 12 weeks of study designed to prepare international students for the Cambridge examination. The courses have been developed to offer students from an Intermediate level to Advanced level complete preparation for the Cambridge examination.

The courses are designed to combine thorough language development with systematic test preparation and practice. In the morning session all five parts of the test are studied which includes the macro skills of writing, speaking, listening and reading plus the micro skill of grammar. The units of work cover a wide range of motivating topics and give you a sense of progress. The afternoon session (Session 3) of the Cambridge course allows students to focus on the examination itself. During this session students will analyse all of the Papers in the Cambridge examination. The class will do group, pair and individual practice tests, dissect tests, use new vocabulary found in tests and discover different techniques to achieve the best result.

You will learn examination techniques and take practice tests under the guidance of an experienced Cambridge teacher. Teachers will observe students in each lesson, give regular homework and assignments and provide weekly, monthly and end of course practice tests to determine progress.

Course Duration: The Cambridge Courses are 12 weeks in duration. There is a maximum of 12 students per Cambridge class. There are 25 hours of face-to-face instruction per week. Our friendly staff can assist you to make a booking for the Cambridge examinations, which are held on the Gold Coast in March, June and December.
